Hi, let me introduce myself.  I'm Nancy McWhorter Fisher, and I'm trying to reinvent myself.  I've been many things--parent, pilot, professor, and now I'm retired.  I have been writing poetry since I was in sixth grade, and as a teacher, I kept trying to get my students to understand and like poetry.  My favorite poet is William Butler Yeats, with Robert Frost a close second.

My current book is "Flame Dancer," and I'm all excited about this.  Someone asked, Why did you write this book?  You don't write a book of poetry.  You write poems, and you put together a book of poems.  These fell into place so readily--so many family poems, personal.  But I was always looking for more than just personal expression, something beyond myself.  If you are interested in poetry, let me know.  I'm always excited to find new poets.  And new readers.  Bye now.  Nancy
